I wanted to allocate a combined of 8 Spell Focus Feats and got a good setup, I guess.

Hope this helps others to find a good combination of these Feats with the added infos.

Sincerely.

.

PS: Since this website doesnt allow me to update the OP after a time, I will post a similar thread with all spells the game has. This chart only includes the spells that are part of the Alpha Access.

Conclusion: Ignore the Elemental Focus Feat. Way too few spells that make use of the Feat and the above spells include Shadow Evocation, its variants and Prismatic Spray all of which are not dedicated Elemental spells to begin with.

However an Elemental Bloodline Sorcerer would benefit tremendously from this Feat as he can change the applied damage to his Bloodline Element and thus benefit from Elemental Focus for most of the spells listed above.

Those tables are nice, but not that important. Most players use only a few spells over and over again. If a spell school or an element has only 2 useful spells with DC and the player uses them all the time it can make sense to spend a feat to improve them.

This! It’s not how many, but how many among the 2/3 spells you’ll use per level.

For a blaster mage, fire is almost always the go-to source of damage because or scorching and hellfire ray for trickster’s and the general usefulness of fireball, dragon’s breath, sirocco.

For a DC mage, conjuration is in my view the best. Stinking cloud and cloudkill, together with your cleric’s poison immunity will trivilIze many encounters. And, IIRC, conjuration speciality is a requirement for the summoning feats, which guarantee a useful spell at every level.

I do wonder whether fire will be weak against a demon’s natural fire resistance or immunity.

I’m just over here being sad going, “Why can’t they make elemental focus Force” :frowning: -spams magic missle all day every day-

There is no Saving Throw against Magic Missile so neither Spell Focus nor your suggestion would make the spell any more powerful.

The spells in my list are ONLY those that are affected by a DC increase. There are tons of additional spells but ALL of which allow for NO Saving Throw including buffs, summoning spells and Touch spells without a secondary effect.

DC using spells only make up 44% (=109 out of 246) of the Wizard / Sorcerer spell list.

To make those more powerful you need added Caster Levels or Metamagic but a DC increase from Spell Focus or Elemental Focus is useless for them.
